Kyoto

FabCafe Kyoto is a renovated wooden building that was built about 110 years ago. Visitors will feel the past, the present and the future with a mixture of "old/new" and "digital/analog". It is located in Gojo area, which is one of the most popular creative spots in Kyoto.

We hold more than 100 events a year, including meetups on the theme of "creation" and events welcoming a wide variety of creators. As a community where people and events mix and cause a chemical reaction, we aim to create a borderless and open space where creators, artisans, manufacturers, researchers, tourists, locals, and anyone else can visit and interact.

SPCS Talks vol.6 Ecological Urban Design With Brian McGrath and Danai Thaitakoo

Against the backdrop of climate change, including an increase in guerrilla downpours and rising urban temperatures, there is a growing movement in the fields of urban design and architecture to seek forms of coexistence with ecosystems. We will invite Brian McGrath and Danai Thaitakoo to this event from New York and Thailand. They have been developing advanced approaches in ecology-based urban design. In addition to introducing their research and case studies, Atsuro Morita, an anthropologist at Osaka University, will join us to exchange views with you on the future of cities.
