建築家がデザインしたバイオリンを巡るトーク&ライブセッション開催

アメリカ・マイアミの建築デザインオフィスMONAD Studioから、Eric Goldemberg氏を迎えてトーク&ライブイベントを開催します。
彼らがデザインした”2-string Piezoelectric Violin”は、数百年間その形状をほとんど変えずに作られてきたバイオリンという道具に対して、デジタルデザインと3Dプリント技術を駆使して生まれた全く新しいバイオリンです。
道具としての機能を保持しながらも、私たちが無意識に使い続けているモノの伝統的な形状から脱却できることを示しています。
イベントでは、”2-string Piezoelectric Violin”のデザイン手法や製造方法、そして彼らのデザインフィロソフィーを語っていただくと共に、バイオリニストによる実演も予定しています。

モデレーターはnoizの豊田啓介氏がつとめ、日英両言語でデジタルデザイン/デジタルファブリケーションの最前線に迫っていただきます。

Eric Goldemberg
Principal Designer of MONAD Studio

Eric is an architect, with a professional degree from the University of Buenos Aires and a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University, New York. He worked for Peter Eisenman as Senior Designer for the City of Culture of Galicia, Spain as well as heading design teams in several competitions. He was also Project Architect for Asymptote Architecture (Hani Rashid & Lise Anne Couture) on projects in Malaysia, The Netherlands and the Guggenheim Museum in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Eric Goldemberg is Associate Professor and Digital Design Coordinator at Florida International University in Miami where he teaches graduate studios and advanced digital design and fabrication courses. Previously he taught at Pratt Institute, Columbia University, New York Institute of Technology, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and University of Buenos Aires.

MONAD Studio

MONAD Studio was founded in 2002 by Design Principals Eric Goldemberg and Veronica Zalcberg.
MONAD Studio is an award-winning architecture practice focused in spatial perception related to rhythmic affect, with explorations ranging from the scale of urban plans to buildings, and from landscape to installations and product design. MONAD Studio’s designs highlight the range and complexity of sensations involved in constructing rhythmic ensembles at all scale sof the urban experience.
The work of MONAD Studio has been published in The New York Times, Architectural Record, World Architecture (China), ‘Architecture in Formation’ book, ‘[En]Coding Architecture’ book, ‘Architecture Xenoculture’ book, ‘Digital Diagram II’ book, Conditions Magazine (Norway), i4Design (Chicago), Future Arquitecturas (Spain), Miami Herald, Florida InsideOut (Miami), Design Book Magazine (Miami), Summa+ (Argentina), Evolo Magazine (L.A.) among other architecture journals.
MONAD Studio was one of the 5 finalists of the 2008 PS1-MoMA competition and the project was exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. MONAD’s entry was also exhibited in New York at the PS-1 Contemporary Art Center – YAP 10th Anniversary show.
The principals of MONAD Studio have lectured about their projects at very prestigious institutions worldwide, such as The Cooper Union (New York), Columbia University (New York), Architectural Association (London), Die Angewandte Kunst Wien (program in Cagliari), Politecnico di Milano (Milan), ETSAB (Barcelona), Iaac (Barcelona), MIT (Boston), University of Puerto Rico, MOCA (Miami), Wolfsonian Museum (Miami), University of Miami, University of Buenos Aires, Di Tella University (Buenos AIres). They are the authors of the book “Pulsation in Architecture” which highlights the range and complexity of sensations involved in constructing rhythmic ensembles.

豊田啓介/Keisuke Toyoda
Partner of noiz

Keisuke Toyoda, noiz founding partner, holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from The University of Tokyo (1996), in addition to Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (2002). Work experience includes Tadao Ando Architect & Associates (Osaka, 1996-2000), SHoP Architects (New York, 2002-2006). Keisuke Toyoda founded noiz / architecture, design & planning with Jia-Shuan Tsai in 2007, based in both Tokyo and Taipei. Currently holding an adjunct professorship at National Chiao-Tung University (Taiwan), and lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts Art Media Center.

New forms of music in their infancy were often mistaken as noise. The name of noiz / architecture, design and planning takes cue from developments in music history, as an everyday reminder of the firm’s commitment to creative and unique design solutions.
Keisuke Toyoda and Jia-Shuan Tsai founded noiz / architecture, design and planning in the beginning of 2007. Both founding principals have significant work experience in Institutional, Commercial, and Residential Design in Japan, Taiwan, China, and the United States.
