CERFAV (European Training Centre for Glass Art) is a glass school that opened in 1991 under the association status. It is located in Vannes-Le-Chatel, a small village in the Northeast of France, in a region gathering some of the greatest glass & cristal factories such as Daum&Baccarat. Mixing techniques preservation & innovation, CERFAV has become the most influential glass centre in Europe.
CERFAV has developed a very particular organization including training, arts developments and researches for french industries.
After the opening of the glass fablab in 2013 and thanks to a partnership with La Nouvelle Fabrique, Inflexion, Magnalucis and Polyrepro, in 2015 “Les Arts Codés” opened its doors in Pantin, located in the great Paris. All together, they aim to offer a new place for co-workers and to create new kinds of collaborations between savoir-faire associations.
On Thursday October 22nd at Fabcafe, Denis Garcia, director of the CERFAV will present in more details the concept & objectives of its establishments & partnerships. By reviewing some of their innovative projects, we will look at the impact of CERFAV, La Nouvelle Fabrique & Les Arts Codés on local communities and on the creation.
