While there are a lot of free 3D models available online for download, they do not always meet your exact requirements?
Discover the basics of designing specifically for 3D printing.
This class is suitable for beginners who are interested in knowing more about 3D printing and everything you need to get started with designing for 3D printing. No prior 3D modeling or 3D printing experience is needed to join this class as it is designed for beginners!
We will be using TinkerCad, a free-of-charge, online 3D modeling program that runs in a web browser.
What you will learn:
- The step-by-step process of 3D design, modeling, and printing to bring your ideas to life.
- The skill to create your own 3D design.
- Understanding what 3D modeling and 3D printing is and how it is done.
- Understanding 3D design and 3D printing principles.

- The various types of 3D printing materials.
Requirements:
- A laptop with a working mouse and keyboard
- Basic computer skills
Learn the basic with us, design it for your fashion statement or your coffee consumption or your photography hobby. Lastly, print the ideas that suit your needs!

Meet Our Instructor:
Matthew graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from Taylor’s University. Being provided the opportunity to learn about the about the importance of 3D printing during his studies has led to his current work to focus on raising awareness of 3D printing as a modern, accessible technology for society that can improve quality of life, while also providing education on other various STEM topics.
