KYODO PROJECT is an initiative developed by DOSO Inc. since 2023 in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan.

The project brings together local weaving workshops and creators from Japan and abroad to explore new forms of textile expression that go beyond conventional techniques and materials.

Rooted in the history and craftsmanship of the region’s textile industry, KYODO PROJECT seeks new models of collaboration in which creators and weavers inspire one another through close dialogue and shared experimentation.

In 2025, five collaborative works were produced and presented as part of FUJI TEXTILE WEEK 2025.

This exhibition introduces the collaborative framework that emerges from the town of Fujiyoshida, revealing how creators, artist-in-residence programs, weavers, and research institutions work together.

Featuring photographs by Shuhei Yoshida, selected outcomes of KYODO PROJECT, and textile samples that highlight the distinct characteristics of each weaving workshop, the exhibition invites visitors to experience the communication woven into both the works and the fabrics themselves.

By sensing the atmosphere of the town through visuals and words, and by engaging with the textiles through touch, visitors are encouraged to fully experience the spirit of collaboration nurtured at the foot of Mt. Fuji in Yamanashi.
