Conversations with Green Changemakers in Japan, Vol. 04 Deforestation
What is the the power of forests to solve climate change? What kind of vulnerabilities and power exists in environmental action? What can digital action can we take for a regenerative future? We welcome guest speaker Ian Shimizu, Founder of weMORI – a recently launched an app that makes protecting and restoring forests fun, easy and accessible for all, to tell us about his experience and expertise on the topic at Vol. 04 of the “Conversations with Green Changemakers in Japan” series.

Ian Shimizu is an environmental activist and founder at 350.org Japan. While at University, he helped start the Japan division of 350.org, a global e-NGO. Ian’s interest is in mobilizing non-activists to environmental action. weMORI is his latest challenge in engaging the global community towards tangible, impactful climate action through the protection and restoration of forests.

The goal of Mottainai Japan is to support English speakers and especially expats to move to a less impactful lifestyle in Japan. Helene also works with international companies to help them co-create their vision and inspire change in their organisation to move to a greener way of operating.
