Global Goals Jam Hong Kong 2020
In 2015, the United Nations declared the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and actions to achieve the SDGs are being taken around the world. The Global Goals Jam is a global initiative to contribute people’s creative ideas and power to the SDGs.
The Global Goals Jam (GGJ) is a 2-day international workshop for citizens to think about sustainability from a global perspective and generate ideas for local solutions to problems in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the 2-day workshop, participants create services, products and ideas that tackle SDG challenges. The Global Goals Jam started in 2016 and has held more than 200 jams, with more than 7,000 participants and more than 1,000 ideas generated.
GGJ is a global initiative where people from all walks of life – designers, programmers, engineers, researchers and citizens – bring their creative ideas and power to contribute to the SDGs. The results of the Global Goals Jam will be published on the Internet under a Creative Commons license and will become the shared knowledge of the world.
In 2020, we will hold an online workshop in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Kyoto.
Global Goals Jam is recommended for:
- Those interested in the global trends on the SDGs
- Those who are interested in the SDGs and want to take action
- Those who are interested in the sustainability of Hong Kong
- Those who are interested in and committed to solving social problems
- Interested in online design methods and design sprinting techniques
What are the focus SDGs for Global Goals Jam Hong Kong 2020?
Global Goals Jam select 3 different SDGs to tackle every year as regional challenges. This year Global Goals Jam Hong Kong is focusing these 3 SDGs:
Shared Value Project Hong Kong is supporting Global Goals Jam HK 2020!
Shared Value Project Hong Kong is a non-profit membership organisation funded by leading corporations to act as a catalyst for Shared Value in the Greater Bay Area.
Creating Shared Value – as defined by Prof. Michael Porter & Mark Kramer in their influential Harvard Business Review article – is a business strategy that creates competitive advantage by aligning profit and purpose.
As part of the global Shared Value network, we help our members future-proof their business by fostering trust with society while unlocking the next pocket of growth. By leveraging our tri-sector network, organisations can create profitable business models to address unmet community needs.
