FAB Camp

The FAB Camp is an immersive learning program designed for teenagers aged 13 to 15 years old. The camp consists of 5 days, in which the students will learn the process of Design Thinking. In teams, they will analyse the problem, find solutions, learn the prototyping tools and make their ideas physical!ย

The camp will introduce the students to modern technologies which support innovation and foster creativity. Digital fabrication tools allow individual creators to produce physical models to share with the world. Electronics & arduino are important basic tools for any engineer or product designer. Students will learn many technical skills, which will better prepare them for higher education. They will also improve on interpersonal skills, including teamwork, communication and presentation skills.

The team projects will be uploaded and shared on the online AWRD platform.

Design Problem

Design is all about solving problems, and in this FAB Camp we will tackle one of the biggest issues facing Hong Kong: Waste management. The landfills are full, but the waste disposal rate continues to increase due to over-consumption and lack of recycling. Together, we will explore different solutions through design innovation.
