What if you could overhear the conversations of the world around you?
What if the wind had secrets to share? What if the birds debated amongst themselves?
This stamping workshop invites participants to listen closely. Observe, interpret and give shape to the murmurs in their surroundings.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have a piece that captures their personal interpretation of the silent, ongoing dialogue of the world around them.
Using wooden block stamps inspired by Eelhum’s “do the lamp posts speak to the trees?” exhibition, you’ll create a personalised tote bag that tells a piece of your story.
Before the workshop, you may want to take a moment to reflect on:
- A time when nature spoke to you, was it a breeze that arrived at the right moment, a tree that reminded you of your childhood backyard?
- The sounds of nature–what patterns, rhythms or movements speak to you?
- How you used to imagine the world as a child? Did you believe the trees whispered to each other? Or that the wind carried messages
What’s Provided?
- One plain white tote bag

- Fabric paint
