What is “STEPOUT BeCreative”?

「STEPOUT BeCreative」是由Fabcafe Taipei所舉辦的創作者駐村計畫。
我們期待成為一個跨界實驗所，目標透過創作者駐村將各種看似毫不相干的領域和概念融合在一起，創造出未知的獨特想法和技術。跨越我們熟悉的文化和領域，讓各種不同的專業觀點在此碰撞交流，共同激發並實踐創意想法。

“STEPOUT BeCreative” is a creator residency program organized by Fabcafe Taipei.
We aim to become a cross-disciplinary lab, bringing together seemingly unrelated fields and concepts through creator residencies to generate unique ideas and techniques. By going beyond familiar cultures and domains, we facilitate the exchange of diverse professional perspectives, fostering collaborations that ignite and actualize creative ideas.

計畫背景 Program Background

FabCafe是一個遍布全球的創意社群。自2012年於東京澀谷成立以來，目前創意交流據點除日本國內外，也擴展至台灣、泰國、馬來西亞、西班牙等地。透過咖啡廳的形式，讓聚集於此的人們自由穿梭於「數位（Digital）」和「現實（Real）」之間，以自造者精神創造屬於未來的創新。我們與來自當地及海外的創作者、藝術家和企業，一同開創跨領域的實驗性活動。

Fabcafe Taipei將透過提供共同工作空間、住宿與展覽空間，讓海外創作者來此進行實地考察與創作，藉由跨文化、跨領域的碰撞來激發創作的靈感與可能性。

駐村期間為最短兩週至三個月之區間，並於一年當中隨時開放。Fabcafe Taipei期待任何領域的創作者到訪，與當地社群與產業進行交流，並在駐村結束前舉辦展覽、工作坊、講座等不同形式的成果展示，甚至將有共同開發創意產品與商業專案的機會。

FabCafe is a creative network that spans 14 locations worldwide. Each day, creators visit FabCafes to gather, meet new people, compete with their talents, and share a forum for presentation. Creators engage in a wide variety of projects that make use of fabrication techniques, materials, and technologies that are unique to the region. FabCafe collaborates with local and international creators, artists, and businesses to pioneer cross-disciplinary experimental activities.

FabCafe Taipei provides a shared workspace, accommodation, and exhibition space for overseas creators to conduct on-site research and creation. Through interdisciplinary exchanges, we aim to spark inspiration and possibilities for creation.

Residencies can range from a minimum of two weeks to three months, and openings are available throughout the year. FabCafe Taipei welcomes creators from any field to engage with the local community and industries, culminating in various forms of showcases such as exhibitions, workshops, and talks before the end of the residency. There may be opportunities for the collaborative development of creative products and businesses.

About Fabcafe Taipei

Fabcafe Taipei 座落於台北市一個新舊融合的區域，有來自萬華的歷史底蘊，台灣年代悠久的廟宇與傳統市場集散在街區中 ; 也有來自西門町的流行街頭文化，這裡聚集著年輕人的活力與創意。我們特別專注在互動設計（AR/XR）、生物科技（Biotechnology）、食物創新、咖啡體驗、循環設計（Circular design）、永續設計、文化創意、地方創生等專業領域當中。

FabCafe Taipei is located in an area of Taipei where old and new merge seamlessly. It boasts a rich historical heritage from the Wanhua district, with Taiwan’s longstanding temples and traditional markets scattered throughout the neighborhood. Additionally, there is also the street culture of Ximending, attracting the energy and creativity of young people. We specialize in various professional fields such as interactive design (AR/XR), biotechnology, food innovation, coffee experiences, circular design, sustainable design, cultural creativity, and local revitalization.

Fabcafe Taipei

平時為咖啡廳經營區域，於營業時間對外開放，可舉辦展覽、講座、工作坊等活動。
It operates as a café during regular business hours and it is open to the public for events such as exhibitions, talks, and workshops.

The Creation Spaces

工作室兼展示空間，設有機械工具與材料的製作區，可舉辦展覽、講座、工作坊等活動。
A studio and exhibition area equipped with machinery tools and materials for creation. Available for events like exhibitions, talks, and workshops.

Room

一間獨立榻榻米房間，可容納 1-2 人，並設有簡易廚房設備、衛浴，以及一處秘密小空間，供員工與創作者休息、創意發想與開會使用。
An independent tatami room accommodating 1-2 persons, equipped with basic kitchen facilities, a bathroom, and a quiet corner for staff and creators to rest, brainstorm, and hold meetings.

• 駐村期間為2 週 ~ 3 個月期間。
  The residency period ranges from 2 weeks to 3 months.
• 駐村期間不包含餐食、交通、作品材料費用等支持。
  Residency does not cover expenses such as meals, transportation, or materials for creative works.
• 進駐期間需舉辦創作者介紹講座與駐村發表，形式為展覽、講座、工作坊或其他提案。
  During the residency, creators are required to conduct an introductory talk and residency presentation, which can take the form of an exhibition, workshop, or other proposal.

申請程序 Application Procedure：
填寫申請表單 → 書面審查 → 主辦方以e-mail回覆 → 線上面談會議 → 簽約 → 正式進駐
Fill out the application form → Review → Organizer responds via email → Online interview → Contract → Official residency begins
