In our second online Fab Meetup surrounding our FabFuture exploration with the focus on waste, we have Mycotech a bio-tech startup from Bandung, Indonesia that aims to create high-performance materials by utilising agricultural wastes of mushroom farming while empowering the farmers at the same time.
We will be talking about growing mushrooms, how mycelium – the root system of mushrooms can contribute to a new generation of materials and how this will affect our future, particularly the future of fashion, architecture and design.

Mycotech
Mycotech started in 2012 as mushroom gourmet producers and soon realised that mushrooms can save the world. After one year of growing mushrooms, they found that their mushroom grow-bag became harden and hard to breakdown. Since then, they have initiated tonnes of research to develop this material.
