SDGs Driven Innovation at the Global Goals Jam

In 2015, the United Nations declared the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and actions to achieve the SDGs are being taken around the world. The Global Goals Jam is a global initiative to contribute people’s creative ideas and power to the SDGs.

This online talk event is an introduction to the activities of the Global Goals Jam, a two-day workshop held around the world to think about sustainability from a global perspective and generate ideas for solving local problems. As a pre-event for this years’ Global Goals Jam in Hong Kong, you can think and learn together with speakers who are involved in SDGs-related activities in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Amsterdam. Global Goals Jam 2020 Hong Kong will be held on October 10-11, 2020 in online format.

What is Global Goals Jam?

The Global Goals Jam (GGJ) is a 2-day international workshop for citizens to think about sustainability from a global perspective and generate ideas for local solutions to problems in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the 2-day workshop, participants create services, products and ideas that tackle SDGs challenges. The Global Goals Jam started in 2016 and has held more than 200 jams, with more than 7,000 participants and more than 1,000 ideas generated.

GGJ is a global initiative where people from all walks of life – designers, programmers, engineers, researchers and citizens – bring their creative ideas and power to contribute to the SDGs. The results of the Global Goals Jam will be published on the Internet under a Creative Commons license and will become the shared knowledge of the world.

In 2020, we will hold an online workshop in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Kyoto.

Global Goals Jam is recommended for:

  • Those interested in the global trends on the SDGs
  • Those who are interested in the SDGs and want to take action
  • Those who are interested in the sustainability of Hong Kong
  • Those who are interested in and committed to solving social problems
  • Interested in online design methods and design sprinting techniques
