Lady Liberty HK is formed by a group of artists and engineers to support the democractic movement of HK through creative means. The project was started in late August 2019, crowdsourced online entirely from funding, design to production, with a strong bottom-up, self-organizing culture.
In this collaboration with FabCafe, we are calling together the Japanese maker community and any passionate individuals to achieve synergy that can generate ideas for products, performance acts, or actions that can help us further our cause and extend our reach in the long-run.
Event Summary: This workshop brings together people who are interested in the current situation of HK, to generate fresh perspective and insight through group discussion and brainstorming.

Lady Liberty Hong Kong
The “Lady Liberty Hong Kong” project is an initiative formed by a group pro-democratic artists and professionals from Hong Kong. The project is a means to voice out, participate in and contribute to Hong Kong’s pursuit of democracy under the shadow of autocratic governments through art, design, and public engagement. The team created the iconic symbol of Lady Liberty Hong Kong, a statue that symbolized the unparalleled bravery of Hongkongers in voicing out amidst the rain of bullets and tear gas in the prolonged anti-extradition bill movement.
