From Dogenzaka, Shibuya, with gratitude, we say Thank You!
FabCafe Tokyo celebrated its 10th anniversary on March 7, 2022.
We would like to thank all the people who have used FabCafe Tokyo, all the creators, artists, and clients who have worked together to create projects, events, and community activities, and all the staff who have nurtured FabCafe Tokyo together.
It was in 2012 that FabCafe Tokyo opened in Shibuya, Dogenzaka in order to provide a more casual and open venue for people to experience the concept of “FAB” proposed by MIT Professor Neil Gershenfeld. It is the starting point of FabCafe, which has now expanded to 13 locations worldwide. Since then, FabCafe Tokyo has been asking the question “What Do You Fab?”. This is a statement that people from a wide range of backgrounds have been making things and sharing their experiences and ideas with each other.
For the past 10 years, FabCafe Tokyo has always been a part of the local and global community. Architecture, digital fabrication, fashion, biotechnology, graphics, coffee, food, music, games, sustainability… Various communities were born, and even today, after the COVID-19 pandemic, we are still connected and working on various issues and challenges with many friends.
In today’s world ,where values are in a state of flux, FabCafe will continue to collaborate with new friends while changing its interests and expanding its antennae to the latest technology, like a band whose members change or like an amoeba stretching out its body to the open sky.
From all of us at the FabCafe Team
We want to hear from you!
On the occasion of FabCafe Tokyo’s 10th anniversary, we are gathering messages from people who have joined our communities, worked in our projects and shared a cup of coffee with us!
Whether you are a daily coffee drinker, someone we have not seen a while, or someone who saw this post and thought, “Oh, by the way, ……!”, please send your messages to FabCafe Tokyo, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
We will read all the messages carefully and post some of them in the FabCafe Tokyo store. We are also planning a small scale celebratory event in FabCafe Tokyo as well.
