香りとアート、身体性の復権 – 認知症ケアから広がるユニバーサルな感覚デザイン

開催主旨 / About

視覚情報に偏重した現代社会において、嗅覚は人の本能や記憶の深層に直接触れる感覚です。嵯峨美術短期大学で香りのアート・デザインおよび認知症と嗅覚刺激の研究を行う岩﨑陽子教授と、香りの作家・楠木氏、さらに海外デザイン研究者を交え、渉成園をはじめとする京都の風土から抽出した香り体験を交えたワークショップと対談を実施します。「Universal Human Beings（普遍的な人間存在）」をテーマに、身体性を取り戻すデザインの可能性を考察します。

In a society overly dominated by visual information, olfaction is an essential sense that directly stimulates human instincts and deepest memories. Prof. Yoko Iwasaki (Saga Art College), a pioneer in perfume art and dementia care research, joins fragrance artist Kusunoki and international design thinkers for an immersive evening. Featuring sensory sampling extracted from Kyoto’s terroir and gardens like Shosei-en, this session explores sensory rehabilitation and universal design under the theme of “Universal Human Beings.”

Kyōto YouMe Triennale

つくることは、意味をつくること。Kyōto YouMe Triennaleは、アート、デザイン、クラフト「ものづくり」を、私たちの身の回りのあらゆるものから新たな価値と意味を生み出す人間にとって根源的な活動として位置付け、ものづくりの新たな出会いや創発を生み出すための場です。国際キュレーターの連携により2026年10月に実施される本展は、Edition “Manifesto”として渉成園・重信会館を中心に各国のアーティストが集い展示を行う他、京都市内各所でのサテライト展示、オープンラボや交流イベントを実施します。

Every act of making isan act of meaning.　The Kyoto YouMe Triennale positions art, design, and craft – making – as a fundamental human activity that generates new value and meaning from the myriad objects that surround us, and serves as a venue for fostering new encounters and creative emergence in the realm of making.　Organised through collaboration with international curators and scheduled for October 2026, this exhibition – titled “Edition ‘Manifesto’” – will bring together artists from various countries to exhibit primarily at Shōsei-en Garden and the Jūshin Kaikan of Higashi Honganji-temple.
It will also feature satellite exhibitions at various locations throughout Kyoto, as well as visiting & experience programmes and community events.
